Please take a moment to read the rules of the forum.
Strictly Prohibited Content: - Warez / Piracy / Hacking / Viruses, or illegal mp3's - Adult / Obscene material (pornography) - Depictions of Minors/Children (even minimal sexual context is not allowed) - Illegal Drugs / Terrorism - Derogatory/Slanderous/Racial/Explicit Material - Sharing of passwords / Serial Numbers / - Invasion on privacy / Impersonation of others - Spam / MLM - Harassment - Illegal Conduct of Any Sort General Conduct Always remember to respect the Admins. Know where you are posting before you post. Each forum has a description, so read it and make sure you're posting in the right area. Example: Don't post about video games in the pictures forum. Before posting, please ask yourself the following question: "Am I making a post which is either funny, informative, or interesting on any level?" If you can answer "yes" to this, then please post. If you cannot, then refrain from posting. Before replying, please ask yourself the following question: "Does my reply offer any significant advice or help contribute to the conversation in any fashion?" If you can answer "yes" to this, then please reply. If you cannot, then refrain from replying. Also, if you wish to criticize Comsat, do so with ways you can improve it, not just a few words that depicts comsat as a lame site. e.g. "comsat sucks!" or "this site is gay!". Doing so may result in severe punishment, since you are not just insulting comsat, but its members and authority. Grammar and Spelling Please take time to make sure your sentences make sense, and that spelling and grammar are correct. It's very annoying to see "heah, wuts up u guuyz?" Also, use correct capitilization. Do not vertically type either. Posting Under 3 Word Posts: If you post short one word, two word, or three word posts or some other single-word reply in a thread like "what?" "hi" "i'm gay" or smileys No Double Posting: No double posting. This is when you make a post, and then make another post right after. If you need to revise something that you wrote use the edit button. Flame Wars: Try to refrain from participating in flame wars. Publicly putting down other members has been done 1000 times before and it is old news. It is a real turn off to everyone else in the forum. We know how tempting it may be to publicly humiliate someone on here but we ask that you keep it private. (IM, Email, or PM) Advertising: Advertising of other websites is allowed via a link in your signature. If you're an established member, you may post a thread (in the appropriate forum) containing your link, what it's to, why we should visit it, etc. If you're new, you may not post a thread advertising anything. One Account: You may have only one registered account. If someone else will be registering on the same IP, you must contact a staff member with a reason and the names of all associated accounts. Failure to do so will result in the ban of said accounts. Quoting: When you use the quote feature, keep the quote original. Altering the quote is both unfair and rediculous. It doesn't matter if it is a joke or not, altering someone else's words should never be done. This falls under "Impersonation of others" under "strictly prohibited". Do not alter quotes. Ever. Images and Signatures Image Leeching: This is inserting an image into your post, where you do not own the server on which the image actually resides. Don't do it - contrary to popular belief, bandwidth does not grow on trees. Signatures: Signatures should not be seizure-inducing. Keep them under 35KB in size, and have no more than three lines of text and/or two images. Images should not be any larger than 450px wide and 120px tall. Miscellaneous: Retard Clause: If you are such a retard that your posts lowers the collective IQ by more than 10 points and it is determined there's no point in trying to set you right, you'll be banned under the "retard clause." Staff Discretion: The owners, operators, and staff members of Comsat Forums reserve the right to add or modify these rules at any time. We also reserve the right to punish (e.g. kick; ban; etc) for any reason we deem fit not yet covered in these rules.
